“Visions of the Sky” – Kanata at Didier Aaron New York

A Lighthouse called Kanata has been invited by our good friends Didier Aaron, the venerable Old Masters dealer, to organize a Pop-Up exhibition at their Upper East Side gallery.

Entitled “Visions of the Sky – Japanese Aesthetics by A Lighthouse called Kanata”, the Pop-Up will take place from May 5th to 13th, featuring sculptures by Sueharu Fukami, Ken Mihara, Keizo Sugitani, Nobuyuki Tanaka, Shigeki Hayashi, Osamu Yokoyama, Kosuke Kato, Shogo Watari and Hidenori Tsumori, as well as paintings by Hisao Domoto, Takafumi Asakura, Kiyo Hasegawa, Ayane Mikagi, Kentaro Sato, Masanori Maeda, Sachiko Oshima and Chiko Takei.

Simultaneously, in celebration of the famed maker of pearls Mikimoto’s 130th Anniversary, A Lighthouse called Kanata has also been invited to curate a special exhibition at their flagship boutique on 730 5th Avenue in New York. Entitled “Visions of the Sea – Japanese Art by A Lighthouse called Kanata” and taking place from May 5th to May 21st (May 4th invitation only), Kanata will exhibit works by the following artists: Niyoko Ikuta, Takafumi Asakura, Osamu Yokoyama, Yoko Togashi, Masaaki Yonemoto and Yoshiro Kimura.

NYとパリに店舗を構える西洋絵画 （Old Masters） の老舗画廊 DIDIER AARONの創立100周年を祝し、アッパー・イースト・サイドの画廊にて「Visions of the Sky – Contemporary Japanese Aesthetics by A Lighthouse called Kanata / 空ノ景 – カナタと現代美術」のポップアップ展を、創立130年記念のMIKIMOTO展と同時開催いたします。
 
造形作品では深見陶治さんをはじめ、三原研さんや田中信行さん、杉谷恵造さん、林茂樹さん、横山修さん、津守秀憲さん、加藤貢介さん、そして亘章吾さんの新作を展示する一方で、平面作品では、朝倉隆文さん、三鑰彩音さん、佐藤健太郎さん、長谷川幾与さん、前田正憲さん、大島幸子さん、武井地子さん、堂本尚郎さんの1966年の作品、そして偶然にも100年前に描かれた石川寅治さんの希少な油彩を展示いたします。
